After every production we ask parents & guardians to fill out a detailed survey because we want to know what we are doing right, and what we need to improve on. Every experience is adjusted to incorporate what we here, so the overall family experience is better every time. And yes, we are in close contact with our students to ensure they are gaining everything they can from participating.

It has been the highlight of my daughter’s entire school experience giving her confidence and deepening friendships
Our child gained a massive amount of confidence as well as a deep understanding of Shakespearian literature. We value the arts and we value how much Marc pushed kids to be their best selves.
What an amazing experience for our son and us as parents and participants. Truly blown away by the professionalism of the production, the lighting, costumes, special effects. I know Luca had a blast!
He liked how intense the experience it was, how the cast was treated very seriously, and standards were set high. I loved the community building between parents AND kids.

It was such a great experience for them. They both grew in different ways and were challenged by everything from learning lines to being calm and patient during rehearsals to interacting with friends of all ages.
He absolutely loved it. It was such an amazing experience. He has done play performances before but this is for sure the next level!

I think its the sense of accomplishment and group effort that entices him the most. I also think he enjoys acting, creativity and imaginary worlds, which is what a play creates, right?

I've had two very different children participate in an OCEAN play. I witnessed tremendous personal growth for each of them targeting areas they previously struggled with. The feeling of accomplishment and confidence boost it gave them both is significant.
I love acting so much. I have been saying lines in my head EVEN after the play ended. I miss midsummer already. I loved it. Please do more.

What did your student learn from or gain by participating in the play?
Confidence, how to study lines and characters and he listened to 'The Hobbit' audio book FOUR TIMES!!!!!
He didn’t think he could play a dramatic role. He prefers comedic roles. He’s SO proud to have stretched to be able to hold down an angry, dark, dramatic part. He was pushed and he succeeded!
OMG!!!!!! I am still processing all of this. My kid was transformed. My kid learned that they can do really hard and big things. They learned that they are powerful, creative and an impressive person, capable of affecting an audience. They learned that they can take big risks and rise to the occasion! They learned about historical art forms and tradition. They made connections with caring, passionate and talented adults, they made bonds with fellow students that are deep. They learned about teamwork. Honestly the most positive school experience of their life.
He gained confidence! He can learn so many lines and pull off a big role. He made new connections and deepened friendships. And he's now part of a group text thread (oh my!).
Memorizing lines and public speaking was a big stretch for Darius. Both kids listened to The Hobbit on cd and got into the literature. Pushing through when they felt like giving up was huge and recognizing the importance of working together and being on a team. For Jojo his initial role evolved and that build confidence.
How putting in practice time allows them to get better, i.e. accent.
He learned that hard work pays off and he was able to practice his leadership skills.
He learned to be more social, better on stage silent performance skills and great work ethic.
How to stick with something even when it is difficult. How to tolerate minor discomforts when achieving a goal. Big picture thinking.

How to carry themselves with confidence and memorize lines.
Although she has been in plays before, this is the first time she has been part of a production of this size and complexity. It was really good for her to learn what it is like to be part of a big team and all that came with it, such as stage combat, puppets, accents, etc. She loved it! It was also an important way for her to bond and get to know other OCEAN students as she is new to the program and tends to feel shy in social settings.
